Admissions
Process
Preview, Pray then Apply. Second Baptist School University-Model admissions begins with attending an information session as a way to preview our school and learn more about our community, culture and curriculum. After prayer, interested families will complete an application and participate in a family interview. If SBSUM and the family determine this is a mutually benefiting opportunity, families will move forward to official enrollment.
It all starts with an Information Session!
1. Preview
Attend an information session. These sessions are a great way to determine if SBS University-Model is the right fit for your family. Participation in an information session is the first mandatory step in the application process. After attending an information session you will receive the application.2. Prayer
SBS University-Model desires to connect with families who are like-minded when it comes to University-Model® education, classical methodologies and the God-given responsibility for parents to disciple and train their children. Please be prayerful about your decision.3. Apply
After attending an information session you will receive an application. Once you have submitted a completed application and application fee, our admission staff will review your application and contact you to schedule a family interview.4. Interview
Each family is required to interview with our admissions committee. This allows our team to spend one-on-one time with both parents and prospective students (if the student is in the Logic or Rhetoric stage). The interview serves both parents and faculty to gauge a school-life balance and alignment. After that meeting, the admissions committee will determine if an offer of enrollment will be presented. The offer will be communicated to the family via email.5. Acceptance and enrollment
The SBSUM Admissions Committee makes all decisions on extending invitations for enrollment. These decision will be communicated to the family via the online application system. An electronic enrollment package will be extended following acceptance. Additional assessments may be required for final class placement.6. Preparation
During the summer months, families will begin to receive information about uniforms, books and summer reading along with resources to begin preparing for the upcoming school year. Since SBSUM University-Model is focused on challenging students in thier individual level, some students, depending on age and/or grade level may require placement testing to determine where he/she fits within our curriculum.Want to know more?
